As a proud woman of color with textured hair, I know just how important it is to use the right products. In 2018, I decided that it was time to take control of my hair and I began researching the contents of the products I was using. To my dismay, most of these products had an alarming amount of chemicals, fillers, and alcohol - all of which had no benefit to my Type 4 hair. Enough was enough and I had to create a solution. After extensive research, I developed a line of natural hair products using ingredients that benefit my textured hair. The best part? They were all affordable! This helped me reach out to other people of color like myself and give them a chance to nurture their natural hair without breaking the bank. In 2021, I became pregnant and I knew that I had to take it up a notch to ensure my daughter was born healthy with beautiful long and thick hair. So I created Forbidden Mane - a collection of natural hair care products specifically created for textured hair that would nourish my daughter's scalp and help her grow long, thick and healthy hair. But it wasn't just about my daughter. I wanted to help everyone with textured hair have access to quality, organic and affordable products. That's why I made it my mission to create a diverse range of hair care products - something that people with textured hair can rely on. My collection includes products like the 7-1 growth oil, Kialanis No cradle cap oil and Natures Shampoo and conditioner, all of which are made with natural ingredients like argan oil, coconut oil and other essential oils. I'm so proud of what I have achieved in such a short space of time and I'm thrilled that I'm able to help so many people with textured hair access quality products that not only do their hair good, but make them feel prouder of their natural beauty. I'm so passionate about helping women of color and I never give up on my mission to ensure that everyone has access to natural, safe and quality-made products for their textured hair!
